Meet a Happy Space Client, Siobhan Barnes
One of my absolute favorite parts of being a professional organizer is connecting with all our amazing clients. They are incredible people, with such interesting lives and work. And everyone has their own reason for getting our help. Hear in their own words about their experience getting organized with us.
Meet Siobhan
Siobhan reached out to us last year about her kids’ bedrooms and play areas. As a busy mom of three, she needed help figuring it all out.
Siobhan is an ex corporate commercial and real estate professional turned leadership coach supporting high achieving professional women to step into a purpose-led career.
Her day job is to coach and mentor women to figure out their most aligned career paths and to offer unbiased support that takes into account all facets (including motherhood, mindset challenges, etc)....all the pieces that play a part in creating the life and career that feels meaningful for you.
As a former corporate lawyer who was totally burnt out, I especially appreciate the work that Siobhan does!
Why did you decide to hire us?
I decided to get help because I was super frustrated with my kids' rooms and play area. As the kids have transitioned from toddlers to tweens it's been a juggle figuring out systems and spaces that work for them as they get older and more independent. I had the best intentions of sorting out an organising system myself but I was stuck in analysis paralysis, pinterest rabbit holes and never finding the time to actually do the job. I had been following The Happy Space for a while and loved the before/after content and decided if I wanted to get these same amazing systems I was seeing, done in my own home and get this project off my to-do list. It was time to hand it over to the pro's.
What was the most surprising part of the process?
How quickly it all got done - and done really well! There was definitely some prep work involved before doing the organising and sorting on the day but Nassim made it pain free and seamless. It felt so good to feel understood and have Nassim come up with solutions and even more suggestions that I hadn't even considered or thought about e.g. having a system to cycle between winter/summer clothes and having a system for dealing with kids clothes that become too small for one kid and are a bit too big for another (genius!), plus a system for crafts and what to do with them!
How has the organization benefited you in your daily life?
It's given me so much peace of mind. Firstly, everything is tidy and organised (I love a clutter-free space). Secondly, the systems are easy to follow for everyone and realistic to maintain (super important).
On a recent family holiday, packing was a breeze because I knew where to find everything in seconds without having to hunt high and low for an item I remembered having. It's saved me buying duplicates too because I can easily see what I have!
Anything else?
When you’re busy working in an organization and climbing the ladder, it can be hard to have the space to do the inner work that’s required to come up with your own decisions so you can walk the path that’s true to you - not the one set out by your line manager or CEO.
I'm currently running a free online program called Work/Life Design. It's a 4-week program designed to help women spending January 2024 build their custom work/life design blueprint to prioritize what's really important and prevent pending burnout so they don't have to quit their careers to find peace, balance and fulfilment.
